Ganglines are used for harness work with single or multiple dog teams pulling bikes, scooters, carts or sleds.

The ganglines attach by a snap hook to the toggle loop at the rear of the dog's harness to connect the dog or team of dogs to the scooter, cart or sled they are pulling.

Materials

Our ganglines are made from 8 mm or 10 mm polyrope. Necklines are made from 6 mm polyrope.

All lines incorporate brass snap hooks and a bungee shock-absorber section to prevent jarring injuries to the dog - a must for running any dog in harness, whether it be recreational or in competition.

Which colour?

Colours available will vary from time to time, depending on what our suppliers have in stock.

Please note that black lines are more difficult to see and untangle, particularly in situations of poor light. Not only are they difficult for you to see, but also for other teams, mushers and handlers to see.

For larger teams it may be preferable to use different colours for different sections to aid in untangling.

Line length & dimensions

The length of ganglines and tuglines tends to be a personal preference and varies from team to team and from dog to dog. For this reason we make our lines longer so they can be shortened if necessary.

In the 4-dog lines and 2-dog modules the neckline sections can be moved along the towline to suit the length of individual dogs.

If you have a preference for specific lengths and spacings please let us know – we can make lines to suit your specifications.

2-DOG LINE $38.00

2-dog line

Polyrope line incorporates bungee shock-absorber section with 2 tug-lines & brass snap hooks - approximate length 2.5 metres.

NOTE: Dogs in a 2-dog team or any dual-lead configuration must be joined by a neckline - Neckline sold separately.

Length:

Approximately 2.5 metres or can be made to the length of your choice.

Also available with heavy-duty bungee section for conversion to 4+-dog team sizes using the 2-dog add-on module: $43.50

4-DOG LINE $70.00

For sledding with 3-dog or 4-dog teams.

Polyrope line incorporates bungee shock-absorber section & brass snap hooks with 4 tug-lines, 2 neckline sections for wheel dogs.

The necklines for wheel dogs can be moved along the gangline to suit the length of individual dogs. (neckline for lead dogs sold separately)

Even if you only have a 3-dog team, the 4-dog setup gives you the option of positioning your dogs in dual wheel and single lead OR in dual lead and single wheel positions.

For a 3-dog team simply hook both tuglines to the one harness and, for a single wheel dog, both necklines to the collar.

NOTE: Dogs in dual-lead position must be joined by a neckline - Neckline sold separately.

Length:

The standard 4-dog line is approximately 5 metres in length, however can be made to the lengths and spacings of your choice to suit your team.

2-DOG ADD-ON MODULE $38.00

A polyrope section which is added on to the 2-dog or 4-dog line for larger team setups (diagram below). Provides versatility of lines for those who run teams of different sizes.

The 2-dog module includes tow-line section with 2 tug-lines and 2-neckline sections (no bungee section). Multiple modules can be linked together for 6-dog and larger team sizes.

Note: it is recommended the 2-dog add-on module be used in conjunction with a heavy-duty bungee section (standard 2-dog line bungee section may not be strong enough when adding additional dogs to the team).

NOTE: Dogs in dual-lead position must be joined by a neckline - Neckline sold separately.

Length:

Approximately 3.5 metres - can be made to the lengths and spacings of your choice to suit your team.

Lines can be made to your specifications for multiple dog teams of any configuration.

A number of 2-dog modules can be attached to the 2-dog or 4-dog bungee line for larger team sizes.

Tugline sections - any length. Come standard with loop and brass snap, but can be made to your specifications. (contact us for a quote)
